Hi, I’m Alex! My approach to counselling is body-based and insight-oriented, using a variety of somatic techniques and parts work. I believe that change happens through an empowering of you to release burdens and stress, process trauma (it can get trapped in the body), grow yourself, and author your own story. While all of us have this possibility, sometimes we can get stuck in the patterns or symptoms that are working so hard to keep us functioning and protected. I tend to work with adults who feel like they are stuck; stuckness can show up in the form of issues within the family system or environment, difficulties connecting with others and cultivating relationships, loss of relationships, loneliness and disconnection, a loss of purpose, significant life transitions, chronic stress, difficulty feeling a sense of safety and security, and recurring intense emotions such as anxiety, anger, or sadness, that can feel debilitating and confusing. Despite our best efforts, we can remain in suffering which prevents us from going down the paths or creating the opportunities that lead us more into our authentic selves and to what we truly desire. I enjoy working with older teens, adults, and couples or small groups in any kind of relationship dynamic, and with people from all walks of life.

My experiences throughout the last 15 years in movement and expressive arts informs my practice, and I believe that creativity generates possibility. In therapy, it’s crucial that modalities are integrated and align with each individual, and that above all else there is a good relationship and sense of collaboration established. Together with the wisdom of the body we can explore what it is you need to feel more balanced and connected to what matters. I endeavor to create a safe space where every body feels welcome and accepted. I am here to support and advocate for you and move with you on your journey!

We often hold a quiet, internal wisdom about what we need to move through life’s hardest moments—even when that voice feels buried under the noise of anxiety or the weight of challenging relationships. If you are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or exhausted by the demands of your personal life, I am here to help you turn down that noise. I believe that therapy shouldn’t feel like being “fixed,” but rather like coming home to yourself.

My role is to hold a safe, steady, and collaborative space where you can rediscover your own inner compass and build the tools to trust it again. My practice is grounded in a person-centered approach, meaning you are the expert on your life. I weave in CBT for practical, tangible shifts, while deepening the work through trauma-informed care and modalities like Internal Family Systems and other parts work. I bring a fresh, dedicated energy to our work, am deeply committed to ongoing education and to showing up as my full, authentic self in our sessions. I specialize in supporting individuals who are navigating the complexities of anxiety and overwhelm, relationship and life changes, and the impact of substance use. Having walked these paths both professionally and personally, I understand the unique blend of grief, hope, and exhaustion that comes with loving someone through addiction and transitions.

You deserve a space where you don’t have to perform or hold it all together—a space where you are truly heard, deeply understood, and supported in every step of your process. If you are ready to start feeling a little more steady, I invite you to reach out for a consultation. Let’s see if we are a good fit for this next chapter of your journey.
