Sincerely Somatic

For In-Person Sessions: As the weather changes, please note that the entrance of the Urban Equity Building is typically locked after 5pm. If your session is after this time, feel free to wait in your vehicle and send a message to your therapist saying you have arrived. Also, if someone is inside the waiting room already, they might be able to let you in. If you will be coming to the office on foot, please talk to your therapist to make arrangements so you are not caught waiting outside in the cold! Please also note that snowy/muddy shoes will need to be left at the front or brought to the office in hand to be placed on the mat there. Socks and/or slippers are recommended for your comfort.

Alex Hartshorn currently has a waitlist for NEW individual clients. Please send an email to info@sincerelysomaticsk.com or book in for a consult with Alex if you’d like to be added to the waitlist. We will communicate with you about expected timeline and position on the waitlist. If you are an existing client and do not see a next session time within a reasonable timeframe for you, please contact Alex to schedule.

Psychology / Mental Health

My counselling practice is somatic, experiential, relational, and insight-oriented. I use a blend of therapies such as body-mind centering, hakomi, parts work, and EMDR. These modalities empower you to connect to self, release burdens & stress, process trauma, and author your own story.

Hi! My name is Brady (he/him/il) and my counselling philosophy centers around approaching each therapy session with compassion and an accepting, non-judgmental attitude. I strive to create a secure environment in which clients can freely explore their past experiences, gain perspectives, and shed negative beliefs or thought patterns that no longer serve them.

While I am dedicated to working with a diverse clientele, I hold a particular passion for helping two-spirit, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning (2SLGBTQ+) youth and young adults as they navigate the complex terrains of sexuality, relationships, gender, and their day-to-day challenges. I am a cisgender gay man and draw on my own lived experience to provide insight into the lives of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) individuals.

In addition to working in queer-affirming therapies, I bring many years of experience as a person with obsessive-compulsive disorder, anxiety, and depression, having been through cognitive-behavioural therapy as a patient, before learning how to address it from the counsellor’s perspective. I also welcome folks seeking help with work-related stress, life transitions, and self-esteem.

Outside of work, you can find me playing Dungeons and Dragons, participating in and producing musical theatre, and spending time with my cat, Patrick. My all-time favourite movie is The Breakfast Club and I miss the 90s candy, Punks, even if no one else seems to remember them.
